Human Resources Advisor – Baie-Sainte-Anne and Bay Du Vin
We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on HR Generalist to support manufacturing facilities and harvesting sites in New-Brunswick (Baie-Sainte-Anne and Bay du Vin). As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering strategic and operational human resources support, while fostering a positive and productive workplace culture. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the peat moss industry, helping to shape HR practices in a growing and essential natural resource sector.
JOB SUMMARY:
Employee & Labor Relations
• Provide day-to-day HR support and advise managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, labor relations matters, and employee benefits.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation, collective agreement, company policies, and HR best practices.
• Handle employee relations issues, including grievances, disciplinary actions, investigations, and conflict resolution.
• Support and guide managers through performance management processes, including evaluations and development plans.
• Participate in and lead joint committee meetings, maintaining positive and productive labor–management relationships.
• Monitor and analyze HR indicators (turnover, absenteeism, engagement, etc.) and provide insights and recommendations to support continuous improvement.
HR Projects & Culture
• Contribute to HR initiatives aimed at employee engagement, organizational culture, and internal communications.
• Participate in planning and organizing social and internal events to foster a positive workplace culture.
Recruitment Support (in collaboration with the Recruitment Advisor)
• Assist with recruitment activities as needed: job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and onboarding support.
• Contribute to improving the candidate’s experience, ensuring smooth communication throughout the recruitment cycle.
• Collaborate with managers to understand staffing needs and support the recruitment team in forecasting and talent planning.
• Participate in recruitment events such as job fairs, in partnership with the recruitment team.
QUALIFICATIONS :
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in human resources; a combination of relevant education and experience will also be considered.
• Experience working in a unionized environment (an asset).
• Experience within a manufacturing company with multiple production sites (an asset).
• Strong sense of initiative, rigor, discretion, and the ability to manage priorities effectively.
• Solid problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess situations and recommend appropriate solutions, particularly in conflict resolution and employee relations.
• Willingness to travel (10–15%).
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of written and spoken French (an asset).
• This role is primarily on-site, with the possibility of occasional remote work.
